Why in the hell would someone pay $40,000 USD for a brand new vehicle if the transmission is going to fail at just 105,000 miles?? Please tell me. I do not understand!! I purchased this vehicle used. Yes. Used. A dirty word. But you would expect that such a 'well engineered vehicle' would last FOREVER!! I was told these cars make it to almost 300,000 miles before needing major part replacement!! This car has caused me nothing but headaches since i bought it just 11 months ago!! I would honestly like to find out that the transmission in my vehicle can be replaced by Audi due to a lemon law or some type of replacement warranty. There is absolutely no reason why a transmission in a $40,000 vehicle should completely fail and need major internal work at just 105,000 miles. If I knew this was going to happen, I would have bought a Honda for $15,000 USD and I could have been happily driving down the road in it forever without any transmission failure. German engineering is nothing but a JOKE!!

A6 2.8

  • 55,000 miles

I am the original owner of a 2000 AUDI A6. One of the biggest mistakes I have made in my life. I traded in a Jaguar on this car that was better mechanically and everyone knows Jaguar's reputation. My very 1st oil change Beverly Hills Audi hit a pole in the parking lot and did not tell me. I noticed it when parking at my home. Every time the car broke.. which was often. Beverly Hills Audi would offer me a service appointment several weeks out. I too had to replace my tip-tronic transmission last August.

The warranty expired at 50,000 shortly. Audi would pay nothing. I paid nearly $5,000 for that incidence. The mechanic informed me that I had 21 error codes in my OBD system. After a new water pump and timing belt $1,300 I only have 17 error codes to address including a $1,200 throttle housing which I can not drive the car until fixing and a $5,000 cam job. Totaling $12,500 in repairs paid out of my own pocket in less the one year, in order to make the car sell-able. And Audi resale is a joke. This is no doubt the worst car I have ever owned.

I have called Audi from the dealer to the Corporation and get not help and much rudeness. I want this car repaired or me to be relieved of it. Also, I want to be compensated for part of my repairs.

After making a 'scene' at a local Audi dealership, my issues were sent via Email from Brandon Goodermount, Sales Manager, Mc Kenna Audi, Norwalk, CA to Mr. Stan Ford via email. More then a month passed and I contacted Mr. Goodermount and was informed that Mr. Ford of Audi of America had not once responded to his email.

Local Audi Sales Managers have expressed their frustration to me about Audi of Americas Customer Service. This is a corporate problem and a service that the dealerships pay for as part of their franchise fees and agreements. Audi of America fails. I finally spoke to Mr. Ford who takes two weeks to respond to my attempts to contact him and only after I went over his head and contacted Mr. Mike Babos. Mr. Ford called me the following day. Mr. Babos assured me that he would personally follow up and contact me in the next two days. Two days later I recieved a call from, not Mr. Babos, but Mr. Ford's assistant.

I am making payments on a vehicle that has not been driven in monthes and I have to borrow my elderly mother's car to get to work.

BRAVO AUDI!!! You win the two awards from me 'WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE' along with 'WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED'.
